Why Soy Wax?Soy candles have become a popular alternative to traditional candles—and for good reason. Made from soybeans, a renewable and biodegradable resource, they offer several benefits for both your health and the environment. 1. Cleaner Burning Unlike paraffin candles, which are derived from petroleum, soy candles burn cleanly with little to no soot. This means they don’t release harmful toxins into the air, making them a healthier option—especially for people with allergies or sensitivities. 2. Longer Burn Time Soy wax burns more slowly and evenly than paraffin, so your candle lasts longer. This makes soy candles more cost-effective in the long run. 3. Better Scent Throw Soy candles hold and release fragrance more effectively, providing a more consistent and pleasant aroma throughout their use. 4. Eco-Friendly Since soy is a natural, renewable resource, choosing soy candles supports sustainable agriculture and reduces reliance on fossil fuels. Many soy candles are also packaged in recyclable or reusable containers, reducing overall waste. 5. Easy Cleanup Spilled wax? No problem. Soy wax is water-soluble, so it’s easy to clean up with just soap and warm water.

How Do I Care For My Standard Wick Candle?1. First Burn Matters Allow your candle to burn until the melt pool reaches the edge of the container. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn. 2. Trim the Wick Before each use, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch (6 mm). This prevents smoking, soot, and large flames. 3. Burn Time Burn your candle for 2–4 hours at a time for best results. Avoid burning for more than 4 hours continuously. 4. Burn Safely Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from drafts, pets, children, and flammable items. Place on a heat-resistant surface. 5. Reuse & Recycle Once your candle is finished, clean out the jar with warm, soapy water and reuse it!

How Do I Care For My Wooden Wick Candle?1. Trim the Wick Before Each Burn Keep the wick trimmed to 1/8” to 1/4” (about the height of a grain of rice). Use a wick trimmer, nail clippers, or just pinch off the burnt wood once it’s cool. 2. Let It Burn to the Edges On the first burn, allow the wax to melt across the entire surface to avoid tunneling. This can take 1–2 hours depending on the candle size. 3. Don’t Burn Too Long Limit each burn session to no more than 4 hours. This prevents the wick from getting too long and the flame from becoming too high. 4. Keep It Clean Remove any charred bits or debris from the wax before relighting. 5. Relight With Patience Wooden wicks can take a few seconds longer to light—hold your lighter to the wick until it catches fully across the wood. 6. Burn on a Safe Surface Always place your candle on a heat-resistant, stable surface away from drafts, pets, and anything flammable.

Why is the first burn the most important? The first burn of a candle is super important because it sets the stage for how your candle will perform for the rest of its life. Here's why it matters: 1. Prevents Tunneling When you first light a candle, you should let it burn long enough for the entire top layer of wax to melt all the way to the edges of the container. If you blow it out too soon, it creates a "memory ring" and the wax will continue to tunnel down the center in future burns—wasting wax and shortening burn time. 2. Maximizes Scent Throw A full melt pool helps release the candle's fragrance evenly and more strongly. A short, shallow first burn won’t release the full scent potential. 3. Ensures Even Burn A proper first burn helps the candle burn evenly each time after. Uneven wax can cause issues like flickering, soot buildup, or poor relighting. 4. Extends Candle Life By burning it correctly from the start, you get the most out of your candle—more hours, more scent, less waste. A good rule of thumb: burn your candle 1 hour for every inch in diameter during the first burn. So for a 3-inch-wide candle, let it burn about 3 hours the first time.

How Do I fix Wax Tunneling?1. Foil Method (Quick Fix) Wrap foil around the top of the candle, leaving an opening above the wick. Light the candle and let it burn for 1–2 hours. The foil traps heat, helping the wax melt evenly to the edges. Remove foil carefully—it's hot! 2. Heat Gun or Hair Dryer Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low to melt the top layer of wax evenly. Let it solidify flat before the next burn. 3. Scoop and Reset Scoop out some wax around the wick (especially if it’s drowning). This helps the flame regain strength and melt more evenly.

Are your containers reusable?Yes! Because we use water soluble soy wax your empty container can be cleaned with a little bit of soapy water. While they are not suitable for food they make great containers for trinkets, especially our wooden dough bowls!
